We Are Lame...
For Halloween we are staying home, not dressing up, and not handing out candy. I had a Sleeping Beauty performance this morning, this afternoon Joe and I did a pirates party together. I don't know... it's just that Halloween looses it's luster after D*C.

We are carving pumpkins, though. Pics later.

hattermercury decided to joke that the Prince Edward photo above would be his "modified Prince Edward costume" for next year's D*Con. Going on to suggest that the costume in the Will photo would be perfect for

m_cubicle.

And thus, a D*Con costume group was born!

Sooo, the basic idea will be based on the photos. Very Sexified Male Disney Characters. However, it does not have to be limited to heroes as pictured in the photos. Villians are welcome, too. Also, only a few of the photos have much more than underwear, so more creative costuming is encouraged! And it doesn't just have to be heroes that have pictures! There are many that are left out. Right off hand I can name Prince Charming and Jack Sparrow.

Women can pick a female character and do this as well! My thought is that most of the women should have their male counterpart as this group is really about the guys! And I figure that we can pose together and we can break into separate male/female groups. That doesn't mean that women shouldn't sign up on their own with a character of their choosing, just that we should try to find a male counterpart for them.

For obvious reasons, this group will meet very late night. Joe and I are planning to be out in our normal Edward and Giselle attire. Then change into our *ahem* modified version and see how many people notice.

Not many rules of this group! Mainly just the usual, no repeats and, please, no cheesy buycostumes.com sexy girl costumes that everyone in the world will be wearing out this Halloween. Otherwise, go nuts!

Night at the Museum Costume Group -- Finalize a Time Post 2
Hey all! Now that the Pocket Program schedule is out, it's time to figure out a time for our Night at the Museum costume group.

I have now heard back from over half the group, everyone voting for Sunday. Do what does everyone think of the following times?

Sunday 11am or Noon
Sunday 1 or 2pm

Also, how about the Atrium level of The Marriott? This is the one with the Sailboat bar, right? Everyone okay with this?

When is a good time for everyone to schedule the group at D*C? Most likely in the afternoon on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Parade Stuff...
Yikes!! I just realized that I have no idea what Joe and I are doing for the parade!!

Penny -- do you still want to do Stepsisters? I don't know if I'll be able to get Joe's Prince Charming done as I've had to put near the bottom of the costume priority list. If I don't, I guess he could always be Pauly Shore.

Hey guys, what parade group would Pauly Shore fit under? Is there a Disney group? I have no idea -- I've always walked with Pirates.

Dreaming...
Is anyone else already having that awful recurring D*C dream that seems to plague so many of us? You know the one -- you get to D*C and some of your costumes aren't finished or are half finished. I've been having this dream every night for the past two weeks. Joe's costume will be done, but mine won't, or vise versa.

Isn't it too early to already be having this dream every night??

captnsparrow! I still remember meeting you for the first time at D*C 2007. You were our first D*C friend EVER!

General Custer costume
Anyone have any suggestions for getting facial hair for General Custer? Ideally we'd like to order a wig and facial hair from the same place/same product line to ensure a match. Of course, we realize this may not be what we end up with. I've searched around, but haven't found anything that will work. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, while I'm at it, can anyone identify the pin he's wearing on the red scarf? We're having a hard time with that, too.

Hello everyone! Just a very quick update as we've had an addition to the group.

Anyone seen this fabric??
Okay, this is getting frustrating! I've looked through thousands of fabrics online and in Austin... nothing even remotely similar. I know that I've seen this fabric before a few years ago. Have any of you seen it anywhere? Can you give me any leads? Black suiting (or similar weight) with red and gold stripes.
